Premiere Elements 10 Slow

I have a new computer, Windows Pro, i5-3570, 16gb ram, 240gb intel 520 SSD for primary, 2tb WD Black for secondary.
I have installed trial of 10, and testing premiere elements. I dragged a random video file onto my timeline and just started manipulating the timeline window, scrolling, zooming in and out etc, and it is unusably slow.
Read others on forms having the same issues with no resolutions. Some saying its due to pc specs. If I can't scroll with these pc specs somethings wrong with your program.
So I installed trial of sony movie studio 12, changed no pc settings at all, and did the same above test and the movie studio works perfectly.
Give me some answers on this adobe or I'm going to have to buy the sony.
thanks
