It served a different purpose from the Time Stretch menu (CTRL+R) by allowing you to snap to the timeline. This greatly improved workflow.

As an analogy, it's similar to having the Trim tool for cutting clips on the timeline, but also allowing users to use the Trim cursor at the corners of a clip to extend the source footage or shorten it. Both of these serve the same purpose in theory of allowing you to remove unwanted footage. But they aren't redundant, as they both are used differently in practice, as I'm sure any experienced user can attest. Having both is beneficial.

Removing the Time Stretch cursor was like removing the ability to drag clip edges and snap them when needed, and instead leaving the ability to double-click a clip and use Set-In/Set-Out as the only trimming method.

Please consider re-implementing this lost tool.
