Photoshop CS6: Precision eye dropper dots on a curves adjustment layer

PS6 seems to have removed one of the most convenient color correction features. There is no ability to command click on an image to add a point to an adjustment layer curve. Now I'm forced to use the hand selection tool, which is good for quick/rough adjustments, but can't be used well for subtle changes. Click-adding points not only was more convenient, it allowed for more precision when used with the arrow keys. Please restore this feature.

»There is no ability to command click on an image to add a point to an adjustment layer curve.«
With Auto Select Targeted Adjustment Tool set in the Properties Panel’s fly-out menu one can add points on the Curve by alt-clicking on the canvas and the (shift-) arrow keys can be used to move those points and + and - keys to select the next point.

And that’s for the Properties Panel.
I have disliked the Adjustments Panel (now melded with Masks Panel and 3D Panel into the Properties Panel) enough to still use the modal dialog myself via a Script and a Keyboard Shortcut.
It’s less convenient than double-clicking Adjustment Layers but by now I’m pretty much used to it ...

I'm aware of the Targeted Adjustment Tool, but my issue is with the keyboard shortcut they've removed that could do the same thing with less mousing back and forth. I like that a feature was added, but not if it means eliminating the more efficient alternative. Restore it please!

If you set the Preference (»Auto Select Targeted Adjustment Tool«) the TAT will automatically be selected when you select an Adjustment Layer, so I don’t see any »mousing back and forth« necessary for this.
