Possibility to trigger updating of all EXISTING .xmp files. It would be useful for example in case when content of many or even all xmp fields in the "Adobe_AdditionalMetadata" table was changed directly using other application then Lightroom.
Because Lightroom in such case displays "Has been changed" or "Conflict detected ". Images having .xmp files are not marked, what makes manual selection almost impossible.
The user has to manually select images to update, but Lightroom could do it automatically.
This is rarely important but could be implemented.
When "Automatically write changes into XMP" option is checked only some of .xmp files are updated in such case, I don't know why. Recently I updated geographical coordinates such way and they appeared only in some of files.

Edited next day:
There is such field called "externalXmpIsDirty" in the "Adobe_AdditionalMetadata" table... Perhaps if it were set to 1, such files would be updated.
Edited later:
No, it doesn't work.
