I wish there were a way to position within the Photoshop Elements grid by typing a file name as one can do with a Windows directory listing. This would be in additions to the slider, page up/down, arrow up/down.

Could you clarify what you mean with the 'Photoshop Elements grid' and 'position'?
I am guessing you are in the Organizer and you want to find and show a given image by its file name?
(that is done with the menu Find >>  By File Name (Ctrl shift K))
I don't see either what you can do with a Windows Explorer display?

I'm referring to the Organizer grid and the Windows FILE explorer.  I do not want to find a file by name but I want to position the grid display by typing a file name as one can do with the Windows File Explorer.  As I caption, tag, and edit a large number of imported images, the display will shift back to the top if I change file date/name, import another image, etc.  I then want to quickly reposition the grid.
