Lightroom/Camera Raw: Popular (and Adobe-supported) Nikkor lens not recognized for JPEG files (work for raw)

This is rather odd, but I have a standard Nikkor kit lens that came with my old Nikon:

Nikon AF-S DX Zoom-Nikkor 18-70mm f/3.5-4.5G IF-ED

When I try to apply lens corrections to a JPEG photo shot with this lens, Lightroom CC says that it doesn't have a profile for this lens. However, it's on the list of lenses that are supported by Adobe, and the exact same lens name appears in the info bar. So why isn't it working?

I have another Nikkor zooms lens that does get recognized, just not this one...

EDIT: It appears that RAW files shot with this lens can be corrected, but not JPEG... does this make any sense? I have many thousands of affected photos, so it'd be great to sort this out.

You can easily edit a lens profile to make it available for JPEGs as well as raws:
