Photoshop CC 2015: Polygonal Lasso Tool is very laggy and auto completes

When using the Polygonal Lasso tool it seems really laggy compared to previous versions and it will add in points that were never clicked. The normal lasso tool and the magnetic one work fine. I've previous contacted Adobe and they said Photoshop needed 8Gb of RAM to work properly and I only had 7 point something (as 8Gb RAM is never actually the full 8Gb). I thought this was rubbish but had planned to upgrade at some point anyway so upgraded to 16Gb but the problem still remains.

Photoshop CC 2015.1.2
Windows 10
Intel Core i5 4670K
16 Gb RAM
Nvidia GTX 770 (up to date driver)
Wacom Cintiq 22HD (up to date driver)

Does this also happen if you use a mouse instead of the tablet?
And have you checked with Wacom for updated drivers?

i Got a solution from Wacom see complete email below I downloaded the file which did not have to be unzipped on my machine but after i installed my desktop Photoshop CS6 works like a dream.

Hello Frank, sorry for the delay on answering back to you.
Our senior Tier3 team just got back with me about this situation and let me know if a possible solution to have the issue solved.
There is a plugging file that needs to be downloaded and installed on your computer for Photoshop.

Please download this file:
https://helpx.adobe.com/content/help/en/photoshop/kb/photoshop-menus-turn-white-mac/_jcr_content/main-pars/procedure/proc_par/step_0/step_par/download/file.res/WhiteWindowWorkaround.plugin1_0_6.zip

Then do this:
1.Make sure that you close Photoshop completely, even from the dock.
2.Unzip the file, WhiteWindowWorkaround.plugin, and move it to //Applications/Adobe Photoshop [Version]/Plug-ins/
3.You can verify the plug-in is installed by launching Photoshop and choosing Help > System Info.

Scroll to the bottom of the text in the dialog box and look for the plug-in name.

After that, restart the computer and try again the Lasso tools to make sure its working correctly.

The MacOS white window workaround plugin was only needed briefly before the fixes/workarounds were incorporated into Photoshop itself.
It is not needed at all in Photoshop CC 2015, or on Windows.

@ Chris Cox - This only happens with the Wacom as far as I know but I don't use the mouse much in Photoshop so can't say for sure.

@ Frank Zimmermann - Thanks Frank, I think this fix is for Macs but I'll give it a go, what's the worse that could happen?!

The Polygonal Lasso tool will not consistently place points on a selection. When I click select and moving to another point it randomly fails to graph a line between the last point and the new one I want. I can go back and click again at the previous point and it will sometimes follow to the next point, but sometimes with just close the selection prematurely.

This happened after I upgraded to Windows 10 Version 1511 (OS Build 10586.318).

Is there a solution to this problem?

Mirroring my monitor on my Cintiq would cause a bunch of lag issues. Only plugging in my Cintiq would make everything as smooth as butter. Might be a quirk with Nvidia's drivers.

Are any of you using a multiple monitor setup or mirroring your desktop across multiple monitors?

This is very frustrating, I use that tool a lot and it is slowing down my workflow being f'd up.  I have done a CC Cleaner and fresh reinstall and if anything changed at all it seems the glitch has gotten worse.

I also uninstall the drivers fro my trackball and reloaded that to no avail.

Is it just the Polygonal tool that's slow? Or is everything laggy?

In the Wacom control panel is the Use Ink setting selected? Also, can you check the double-click distance in the Wacom Driver. In our tests tapping really fast can get a double click closure. Setting double click distance to off may mitigate your issue.

I'm having the same problem with Photoshop CC 2018! exactly as described and with a Cintiq but this time on a PC computer (earlier posts were for a MAC). This problem started happening all the time with only the poly Lasso tool and on 4 different computers that I use at work and at home. So this is pretty bad.
