PNG Files change resolution From 300 to 299.999

Hi, I would like to know if you know anything about PNG files? I have a problem. All of a sudden after making many PNG files with no problem, the resolution is changing from 300 to 299.999 when I save the file. They won't load to my web store unless they are 300 and they have to be PNG. Any ideas? Using CS2 and CS6 with the same problem.
Thank you

I believe this has been fixed in more recent versions of Photoshop (CC, I think - but it's been a few years since I fixed it).

PNG specifies resolutions in pixels per meter -- and sometimes the conversion between pixels/inch and pixels/meter was not as precise as it could be. I fixed that to ensure that near integer resolutions snapped to integer values.

It sounds like your web store also fails to handle the imprecise nature of PNG resolution values (other apps would write 300.01 or 299.97). That bug will have to be fixed in the web store code.
