hello, the issue I'am facing is
I have updated the photoshop to the latest version , then one of my plugin is not functioning its shown in the extensions panel and I'm able to see the interface but when i try to use it , it just does some kind of flash screen and creates a layer and deletes it  and doesnt work , though its being shown in the history log.

Plugin name - NBP ColorMapX
I'm attaching the screenshot of the chat that i had with the support Team of the plugin-devs for better understanding

Hi,

not sure if I understand correctly but by looking at your chat log it seems to me that even when you uninstall there are still traces somewhere, right?
I am guessing the palette you mentioned showing up is a custom one that should not appear after uninstall/reinstall?
If that is the case it maybe helps to track down those traces of the plugin to make sure you do an absolute clean reinstall of their latest version.

Overall it does sound like a change in PS' scripting API might have caused the plugin to misbehave.
Maybe someone from staff woulf know something about it.

Their support does not seem to be very active:/ Maybe you could ask them if they at least tried their latest version with this PS version and if they can tell you all the locations of configuration files from their plugin.

Good luck!

I am not quite sure what else to try.
Are you sure you got rid of all traces of your plugin as well?
Do you have additional plugins installed that could interfere which you don't have on the second test system?

I was talking about the plugin's folders and files that might be somewhere outside of Adobe's structure.
In my opinion, your best bet is to get this information from the plugin developer.
There is a high chance there are some prefrences somewhere not controlled by PS/Adobe but the plugin itself.

if you're having issues with a 3rd party plugin after a Ps update, then you'll need to work that out with the developer.

Any logging would have to be written into the panel/extension by the developer. Definitely sounds like a system specific issue given the same panel works on a different machine. Hopefully the NBP people can help.

do you know which code could be added to the panel to enable logging?
I can edit its source code.

It's usually pretty dumb logging by putting try/catch around functions and spitting out the state and variables for inspection. There's not a macro switch that I know of.

Coding is not that easy to explain if you do not have experience with it. You should have some kind of decent understanding in order to add this to the code yourself in case that is why you were asking.
