Premiere Elements: Add support for .wtv video files

Last night I discovered that my Adobe Premiere 10 will not recognize .wtv files . Which means I can't do any editing of such files. Since I also have a competitor's video editing software, I checked to see if it would recognize .wtv files. That software does recognize such files, but states that their software cannot edit .wtv files and offers to do a "pre-processing" of the .wtv so that the pre-processed file CAN be edited. That capability is available on both their 2009 & 2011 versions of their program. So my suggestion to you at Adobe is to request that you make enhancements to both Premiere Elements 9 & 10 that will allow them to recognize as well as offer such a "pre-processing" so that .wtv video files are then able to be edited on Premiere Elements 9 and 10.
Thanks

I wish you would post the name of the competitor's name. I also want to record from television (desktop) that have a .wtv format and then edit out commericals and save as avi or wmv formats. Adobe makes it impossible to talk to a technician and I was already pissed because all the things advertised on the box can't be done unless you buy more and you don't find out until you've bought and loaded the software. I speak of items under the "Title" tool and Themes tool.

I downloaded the trial version of Corel ProX5 and it did convert the .wtv file. I have been playing around with it and find I like it better than Adobe. As I said before, when I bought Adobe it said on the box that it contained motion titles and themes. When it's loaded I find I don't have access to much of the palette because I elected not to buy add-ons. To me, if it's printed on the box...it should do it without additional purchases. FALSE ADVERTISING as far as I'm concerned. Thanks for the advise on Corel.
