Hi. In these days I imported all my achive on LR by associating any picture to one or more keywords taken trom a taxonomic tree (useful in order to keep order in KW). I tried to focus all the complexity in the taxonomic tree in order to keep the folder structure of the catalog as simpler as possible.
Anyway... this complexity finds a bottlenek once I have to make a search. This is due to necessity to remember all taxonomy tree structure in order to set keywords and to slide trought all the structure once per keyword set.
On the other side there is the very fast way to insert new KW in a little box.
I think it would be very useful to have a box where to insert keywords to search, possibly pointing out the mismatching ones (likely wrong entries).

Do you find it difficult to search for keywords in the the kw tree or to search for images with certain keywords assigned? In fact, you can do both... I didn't quite get it.

No "problem" in searching pictures. Simply, having a very branched tree (due to a very detailed taxonomy) every time I have to "open" every branch to find finally a "leaf" (a keyword). Sometimes I don't remember in which branch I saved the keyword. It's not a "problem", just a matter of trying, but it's just "bottleneck".
Having a box to write keywords to look for the workflow would be faster.

At the very top of the keyword list is a filter box. Type the word in there, and the list should be filtered. Select the keyword you want, then clear the filter. Does this help?

I'm assuming I did not explained very well :)
Looking the added image, in the red ellipse there is the filter box you are talking about... but it's only related to "add" keywords.

In blue ellipse, instead, there is the filter related to picture selections.
Well... in this filter you can select single keywords by opening every time the taxonomy tree branch per brach.
My suggestion for LR engineers was to insert a box similar to the one in red ellipse in the blue ellipse area.

OK, now I see. You want a search box here:

Actually, if you know the keyword, but don't remember its location within the hierarchy, why not just use the standard search (Testo, in your screenshot) box ?

Or click on the 3 little lines just above the top right of Dorin's red line to show the pop-up menu, and turn the keyword list into a flat alphabetical list instead of a hierarchy.
