Especially ofr those of us who shoot Nikon and cannot backup in camera.
Adding a second backup location during import would be an essential feature.

I can see this as a viable option for any brand of camera - even those which store to card and via tethered capture simultaneously. My primary concern would be to keep the additional backup stream from impacting performance during tethered capture.

This is something I need for location shooting while tethered. Having one copy of a file on a laptop only is not an acceptable situation during a fast paced commercial shoot.

Those files need automatically duplicated to an external USB, Thunderbolt, firewire, or network drive.

In order to keep it from impacting streaming tether performance, you'd simply stagger the write stages. Write the first folder and when it's done, write the second folder. That would be an acceptable solution for large files.

Jammy, if you're doing this on a Mac, you can probably achieve this with a Folder Action today while you're waiting for Lightroom to support it. Create an Automator action to do the copy, then attach the action to the folder. I haven't tried this while shooting tethered, but I think it should work.

Yes, this is an essential feature to maintain a workflow. Should not be to hard to implement I guess, only a matter of time and priority.
