am so frustrated with this problem. lightroom doesn't recognize images i (saved as) using photoshop even tho these are the same images i edited from lightroom originally. the only way for lightroom to see those images is when i export them using photoshop as png or jpg which is useless to me. i tried to save as raw, tiff, psd, photoshop... nothing is recognizable

ps i have already tried unchecking the suspect duplicates box and treat raw/jpeg as separate files.

i have
lightroom 2016
camera raw 9.5
photoshop 2015 1.2
mac osx el capitan 10.11.4

Doesn't recognize? You can't import? What format (TIFF, PSD) and if the later, you're saving with Maximize File Compatibility? That's a must! Go into Photoshop's General Preferences>File Handling and make sure that's set.

i can reopen the images with photoshop but for some reason lightroom dosnt see them???

The symptom of not having anything showing up in the Import grid can also mean that the Destination specification is invalid--if you are doing a Copy type of Import.

If you have a small example TIF or PSD that doesn't import you could upload it to and post a public download link, here, to let others look at it.

steve. i can import anything but those files saved as in photoshop. there's something about the setting of those files that's allowing lr to see em. i can view those files back in photoshop and even os can see the images and provide a preview in the finder.  below is a link to one of those files

Joey, downloaded the tiff.tiff, it imported into Lr 6.5 just fine. Which version of Lr that you are running? Is the file located on some special drive/folder on the machine? Try put the file on a separate drive or folder. Are there any error messages in the console?
