Premiere Elements: Please allow shake-reduction on clips which do not match the project resolution

I could use the words from https://feedback.photoshop.com/photoshop_family/topics/i-wont-be-purchasing-any-more-pe-updates but I will try to formulate it a bit nicer:

From a user perspective it is hard to understand why Premiere Elements refuses to apply shake reduction (stabilization) on videos not matching the project resolution, given that it can apply most other corrections to videos of any size.

I often switch between 1080p and 4K resolution on my camera - depending on what is best for the scene - and of course I want to combine these clips into one 1080p movie. Depending on the project settings I choose I can either stabilize only the 4K videos or the 1080p videos. This doesn't make sense.

The only workaround seems to be to process/stabilize some of the videos separately, save the result and use this in the final movie ... which of course means compromising video quality through re-compression. Hardly acceptable.

Please overcome this limitation (and ideally within v15).
Matthias.
