It used to be that to maintain proportional scaling, a user would hold the shift key while scaling. In Photoshop CC 2019 the proportional scaling is done without pushing anything, but now when you hold the Shift key it UNLOCKS proportional scaling.

To just change the scale tool to be backwards relative to how it has very literally always been without an easy way to change it back or any documentation the first time you use Photoshop CC 2019 is ridiculous. It shows that the people making the software don't actually use the software.

The fix is easy: Instead of making some one line script file, have an in-app toggle switch to allow for legacy scaling proportional.

I've been using Photoshop for 25 years, and this is absolutely 100% perplexing.

For context, I see Adobe released Photoshop on the iPad. All of their changes to default behaviors make more sense when you imagine using photoshop on a touch-only interface...

OK, that's great for whatever amateur uses photoshop on their iPad. But what about real designers who use a computer? Why abandon us when you can so easily add a toggle switch to make it how it used to be? Especially if it's just one line of code.

I totally agree. Been using photoshop for 15+ years and found these new shortcut changes today. Now instead of doing my work, I'm trying to file a complaint, and wish I had never clicked the update button.
Already had to figure out how to use Legacy Undo keyboard commands.. why change 15+ year keyboard command defaults for regularly used tools??

Bad move Adobe.
