Playing Videos in Lightroom 5 doesn't work (as observed by many people)

I have raised issue number 0184620220 with Adobe - basically that video handling in Lightroom 5 is impossible to use and freezes up my computer (as observed by many other people, going by the various forums).

Adobe have asked that I create a new admin account to ensure Quicktime is up-to-date. I have done this and can confirm it is. I also see the same issue in the vanilla account.

This issue is something fundamental with how Lightroom is launching quicktime - a bug in my opinion, not just a general performance issue.

Unfortunately the only option I have been provided to send this information back to Adobe is via the live chat. This takes many hours to get to the front of the queue and is extremely inefficient and sending back confirmation information like above. My only recourse is to raise it here in the sad hope that something is done.

Issue 0184620220 is still open, and the 'fixes' provided have not been fixes.

1. Please can you actually look into this issue adobe, or provide some feedback on what is being done to actually have LR5 play videos

2. I am more than happy to provide logs, further feedback, try things out. However, I don't have time to be ignored on the chat queue for hours. Please provide and email address I can respond to for this issue
