Pixel artefacts when using liquify tool with GPU acceleration enabled (5k iMac w/ AMD R9 M380)

When editing images in Photoshop CC (latest update as of 19 Jan 2019, also latest Camera Raw update) with the GPU acceleration enabled (Radeon R9 M380 on 5K iMac), weird pixel artefacts appear after the adjustment has been made.

Turning off the GPU acceleration fixes the issue, however the liquify tool runs incredibly slowly without it.

Work around is to make edit with GPU on, then apply the same adjustment to the original layer after turning the acceleration off. This is obviously a time consuming work around...

Anyone else experiencing this? Or have any advice?
Thanks :)
