My photos from camera roll are not being recognized in Lightroom mobile app despite all attempts to uninstall/reinstall and everything else.

Lightroom will only contain the images that you took with the Lightroom camera.

That’s not what I’m saying. It is not opening pictures from my phone. Not recognizing images on my device.

Lightroom mobile doesn’t try and own all of the images on your phone in the same way that it tries to own all of the images on your computer. It only sees the images that you have taken with the Lightroom camera, (which is an excellent camera, I would add. The best one I have used so far ). It can’t see the phone’s camera roll.

I’ve just done a test - if you open an image in your camera roll you can share it to Lightroom. It then appears in your Lightroom picture roll when you next open the app.

But that’s what I’m saying. Mine isn’t doing that. It won’t share to Lightroom.

I can’t even open all albums in Lightroom.

And the albums I do open sometimes only have one picture or are black when in reality they have all sorts of pictures, so I know it’s a malfunction with the app.

I will use it from now on. I just really need to edit a couple pics I’ve already taken.

Could be phone specific. Which model ? It would be worth knowing.

Also Snapseed is an excellent editor if you don’t already have it. It has features not available in Lightroom.

Some of the information above is not correct. Lightroom can add any of your camera roll photos to its catalog

Auto Add new photos from Camera Roll
Tap on the Library Icon (books)
Tap Gear
Tap Import
Select the types you want to import.

Add Existing photos to camera roll
Tap Blue Add Icon (bottom next to Lightroom Camera
Choose Add from Camera Roll
Select items to Add
