I have just updated my version of Photoshop on my PC and on my Apple lap top. When I access Filter/Render on my lap top, I can access Flame Picture Frame Tree etc. but on my PC, Flame, Picture Frame and Tree are greyed out so that I cannot use them. Why is that?

Those filters require OpenGL functionality. If your system does not meet the minimum requirements for using OpenGL, or has driver problems that have forced OpenGL functionality to be disabled, then the filters will not be available.

Check the system where it isn't working, and verify that it meets the minimum requirements, then verify the Photoshop hasn't seen an error in the driver (look at the GPU information in Help --> System Info).
If the system doesn't meet the minimum requirements, then about all you can do is update the system or live without features that need OpenGL.
If it meets the minimum requirements and the driver isn't working - then updating the driver from the GPU maker's website will fix most of the known driver bugs.
