Hi,

do you know the window which pops up in win 7, when a new drive is detected? Lightroom is one option to select in this window, namely to import files. After my initial installation of Lightroom there was also a nice pictogram in front of this option.

Now after installting a newer version the pictogram is defect. Is there a solution for that?

Lightroom has a command-line option to repair the registry keys.

Short story: open a command prompt, change to the directory where Lightroom is installed, and run "lightroom.exe -register" (without quotes).

Longer version:
1. To open a command prompt, click on the Windows start button, and in the search box, enter "cmd" (without quotes). A black window with grey text should appear.
2. Right click on the desktop icon for Lightroom 3.5 and choose Properties
3. From the Target field, copy the path to lightroom.exe. On my system, this is C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 3.5 (note that the app name, lightroom.exe, is NOT part of the path).
4. In the black command window, type "cd ", then right click and choose Paste to paste in the path. Hit enter to change to the Lightroom directory.
5. In the command window, type "lightroom.exe -register" to try and restore the registry keys it needs.
6. Close the command window and try running Lightroom normally again.

Hope this helps.
