Photoshop: How does the HUD color picker work?

On the quick select colour shortcut alt shift right click it would be nice if, like in the colour picker you had an indication of the colour you are already on. Also in the transform mode when you move the centre pivot point if you could lock that point there that would be super... if either of these exist I apologise but I can’t find em!

Regarding the HUD color picker. When you bring it up it is at the color set in your foreground color. As you move the cursor around you will see it has a split ring around it. The top half of the ring is the color that was set when you brought it up. Additionally if you hold down the space bar after the HUD is up you can move between the color ramp and Hue controls without the color changing. release the spacebar when your cursor is over which section you want to adjust to make changes. (after the HUD is being displayed you can release the keys that bring it up to allow easier access to the spacebar)
