I appear to have a problem viewing dng files in Picasa that were converted to the dng format by Lightroom 4. Lightroom 3 files remain fine. The original file (created by Viewscan) pre Lightroom 4 conversion can be viewed in Picasa but files converted by Lightroom 4 appear as alternating dark bands and pixelated bands.
Maybe it is something else but the timing seems to correlate with the move to Lightroom 4. Has anyone else seen this effect? I use Picasa for face recognition.
CS5 can view the same dng file without issue

Stephen,
We've contacted Google about this issue. It looks like more than one software vendor is not reading image files properly. The extra information from the Fast Load Data should not cause an imaging software to fail to read the file properly.

We'll reach out to other vendors as appropriate.
