Photoshop updates screw up Plug-ins?

I have a subscription and recently updated Photoshop. After doing that I found that all of my plug-ins were deleted, and I have to hunt up passwords and site information to re-load all that. If you're going to mess me up every time you do an update, then this very quickly loses its benefits. It's not that difficult to see what plug-ins are installed a link up to them in the updates you do. If you aren't going to do that, then having consistent updates from this on-line licensing scheme is not going to work, and I'll just drop back to the last Photoshop CD I had.

Photoshop updates don't touch your third party plugins.

New versions of Photoshop will install separately from old versions, and you have to copy or reinstall your third party plugins for the new version.

Which specific version are you using?
Which OS version?
And did you possibly confuse the 32 bit and 64 bit versions on Windows (which are in separate directories)?
