Photoshop: Transparency

I'm having trouble changing the transparency of an image. The picture I have is normal at the top, but towards the bottom, it's white but transparent. I have been trying to fix it, but I can't seem to get it right. Some help would be greatly appreciated. If it's possible, can someone do it for me? I'm not really a Photoshop wiz haha and it would make things a lot easier. Thanks!

Can you post a screenshot showing your layers palette?

You don't have any transparency in that image -- all you have is a flat image with a transparent effect baked into it.

I had already done that and I couldn't get it to work. I quit out and I took this photo an hour or so later, that's why there's nothing in the layers palette.

That doesn't quite make sense.
The image you showed has no transparency, and thus you cannot affect the transparency of it.

What image did you start with, and what are you trying to achieve?

The picture connected in the first post is the starting image. The bottom half of the picture is white, but slightly transparent. I'm trying to get rid of that so the whole picture looks normal like the top half.

Again, you have no transparency in the image - you can not change the transparency (that does not exist).

What you can do is create a mask and use adjustments to try and make the white section look similar to the top - but that won't be easy because you have very little image data to work with.
