Photoshop CC: getting repeated errors about not accessing web help

Why can't I access online help through Photoshop CC anymore? THis has never been a problem, but now it is a big problem - especially when the error message pops up after I click the color picker and absolutely will not go away regardless of how many times I click the OK button. The only way I can get out of the program is to end task.

I have searched for solutions, but cannot find any that work. I have waited for an update from Adobe, but there doesn't seem to be one forthcoming. What gives??

This is an interesting problem considering the error I get when I click the color picker is the exact opposite: a bombardment of online help. It will spam me 10 to 20 browser tabs of online help. It doesn't happen very often, and generally only when I've been using the program for several hours straight, but I'll be checking this post as maybe your issue, if solved, could send me in the right direction.

On second thought, it might be related because she's getting the help error repeatedly in specific circumstances...

Check that you can access Adobe's website through your browser.

Some people have put a bad mapping for adobe.com in their hosts file for odd reasons, and that will prevent internet access to Adobe's webservers.

I absolutely can access adobe.com through my default browser - Firefox. I can also access through Chrome and MSIE. Heck, I got to this page via adobe.com. And I update my Creative Cloud without any problems so clearly my computer *is* communicating with Adobe's system somehow.

For the heck of it...I just checked AI, ID and Acrobat. I cannot access online help through Acrobat (similar message to PS); but I am able to access through AI and ID.

Ugh!!
