It would be nice to see Liquify and Vanishing point working on Smart Objects.

Vanishing point is really tricky because Photoshop currently doesn't record brush strokes.

Liquify may be a possibility through saving the mesh, but meshes tend to be really huge and can take a long time to save/load/apply.

If you look in the Scripting>Sample Scripts>JavaScript folder, you will find a file called "EnableAllPluginsForSmartFilters.jsx"

Drag that file on Photoshop and you can enable all filters as Smart Objects. That said, if you try to edit the filter, the parameters, like paint strokes, won't be remembered and applied.

Liquify was improved to be a fully functional Smart Filter in version 13.1 for Photoshop C6 (Creative Cloud)
