Photoshop Saving Photo Problem

Recently I have been having trouble saving photos. Sometimes when I go to save a photo a partial title appears when I type save as and then when I save it. The thumbnail is blank and nothing opens. Do you know what is going wrong? I've tried closing photoshop and reopening. It is rather random and if I try over and over I can usually get it to save it, but I have to do it in a round about way. Do you know what is going wrong?

What version of Photoshop?
What OS version?

What do you mean "a partial title appears"?
What do you mean "the thumbnail is blank"?
Your description isn't very clear.

Sorry, Photoshop CS6 Windows 7

I had made some photos and saved them as Charles W Morgan. When I went to save the next one I clicked on Charles W Morgan to add a 2 to it. Somehow it got saved as only Charles W Then the next one I said save as and Charle W came up and I couldn't change it. When it was saved only an empty thumbnail appeared and I couldn't open it. The was no image in the thumbnail, just the outline of the box. It is a bizarre problem. I have been using Photoshop for years and I have no idea what is happening. I don't know how else to describe it, makes no sense.

Most likely you used "Charles W. Morgan" - which would confuse Windows because anything after a . is the file extension/type (" Morgan" in this case).

But it is still confusing, because you can always change the filename in the OS save dialog.

Well perhaps that was the problem. But, not sure why it would keep reverting to that. Haven't used the period on the others. Thanks for the reply!
