"File > Save for Web.... 5 Minutes later, o good, the dialog finally
opened, Save.... 5 minutes later... I'm out of things to read while Save
for Web finishes 'saving'."

"Why does phototshop always spin out when saving for web? 50/50 change
photoshop goes into spiny wheel melt down you have to wait 60 seconds for
it to come back... annoying."

"Please. PLEASE. Someone at Adobe! Get rid of the "Save for Web and
Devices" option or for christ's sake, fix the EFFIN' THING."

"Why does save for web beachball my mac for more than a minute? it's just a
flat image, sort it out!"

This can be caused by a couple of things:

1. Some users don't realize that they have an animation or video layer in their document - which causes Save For Web to generate a preview for a very large animation.

2. With Photoshop CS4 and earlier, there appeared to be an issue with a Carbon API if certain types of drives/servers were mounted while using Save For Web on OS X. Unmounting external drives/servers and restarting Photoshop corrects this issue.

Photoshop CS5 uses different API doesn't have this behavior.
