Photoshop CS6 Ruler difficult to read depending on UI lightness setting

Photoshop CS6's interface is great, however if I keep the dark background it becomes hard to see the millimeters in the ruler. Any solution, maybe lightening the ruler only?

Hi Richard thanks for your input.

Are you on Windows or Mac? (the background color is the same for both but the text rendering is different). Additionally are you referring to the color contrast between text and background color?

Thanks,
John

Thanks for your reply John,
I'm on Windows and the "problem" I was talking about, is the difficulty to distinguish, as clearly as it is with a clearer background, the millimiter gradations of the ruler, hence more time needed to exactly place guides on the canvas.
Thanks

I think what you are asking for is having the tick marks (millimeter gradiations) more obvious (brighter compared to the background). Correct? Possibly making the current mouse position brighter as well?

One additional question, what UI brightness level are you using - the darkest or second darkest (the default is the second darkest). Or rather should I ask, which brightness levels do you find it difficult to see the tick marks?

Thank you for you time,
John

Thank YOU for your time John,
I am using the second darkest, because with the darkest it would be practically impossible to see the millimiter gradiations. But I'll have to go a level lower in darkness if I want to be more efficient and speedier in placing those guides!
I suspect there is no solution for this "subjective" problem from Adobe. I guess those who use guides a lot and who, like myself, find the dark background too dark, will have to go a step lower, alas. I had started to like the proposed background.
Thanks again and have a good weekend
Richard

Thanks Richard,

I have written up a bug and sent it to our experience design folks to address for the next release (BTW, I agree with you, it is hard to see the ticks).
