The HSL / Color adjustment in Lightroom is way ahead of what is available in Photoshop in terms of ease of use and flexibility, IMO. To achieve the same results in Photoshop requires a combination of the HSL, Selective Color etc adjustment layers ...

For example, changing the image on the left to the image on the right in the link below takes seconds in Lightroom ... but is very difficult to do in Photoshop.

Lightroom Images

I would love to see an adjustment layer in Photoshop which is as powerful as the one in Lightroom.

Great point! I was about to add my own topic on this but found yours. I wholeheartedly concur. I don't understand why Adobe cripples PS by excluding these adjustments which are available in ACR but not in CS.

While I'm not a Lightroom user, I would certainly agree that basic colour correction tools in Ps, selective colour being a good example, could certainly do with improvement.

It's unfortunate, but it seems that a number of the core professional level colour correction tools are getting little attention; sidelined by the rush to market the latest 'auto-magical' feature...

In my limited time using PS, I have struggled to master the selective color, curves, color bal, etc, and implement them in a way that give the desired result. I agree there could be some serious upgrades and innovations made to PS in the area of color correction. Let's hope Adobe is listening.

Thanks to the CS5 Script: Edit Layers in ACR 1.1.5, it is possible to edit a layer in Camera Raw, giving you the equivalent of the Lightroom controls: http://russellbrown.com/scripts.html A native solution might be welcome, indeed.

Yes, I too use Russell Brown's script to edit a Photoshop object in ACR ... which just goes to show that Russell Brown also thinks that some of the editing features of Lightroom / ACR are better than Photoshop's! Pretty crazy state of affairs considering that Photoshop is supposed to take off where Lightroom ends (after all, for photo editing, the only reason for using Photoshop is that it can do things that are difficult or impossible in Lightroom).

I must say that I'm VERY disappointed not to see features like the HSL adjustment in CS6 Beta ... it would be too much to hope that it will make it to the release.
