The faulting module, mc_demux_mp2_ds.ax, is part of the Auto-Analysis. It sounds like you may have a video file in your catalog that cannot be demuxed (having the audio separated from the video). I'd suggest disabling the Auto-Analysis. Since you cannot launch the Organizer, I would suggest the following:

1. Launch the Organizer while holding down the Shift key (timing can be tricky, but if done correctly, you should see the Catalog Manager, not the Organizer).
2. In the Catalog Manager, create a new catalog.
3. The new blank catalog should allows the Organizer to launch.
4. Go to Preferences>Media Analysis and uncheck all boxes. Click OK.
5. Go to File>Catalog to reopen the Catalog Manager and open your previous catalog.

If this does not work, there is something wrong with either the catalog file itself or with one of the files recently imported.

"Problem caused program to stop interacting with Windows." This is the third computer I tried to run the program on. The computer is new. Program seems to stall when I click on something, and if I click again, it tells me that the program is not responding and offers to close.

I've purchased numerous version of Photoshop Elements over the year. With these years of use I fairly competent with the use of the product. We currently have version 9 installed on our computer which has a huge hard drive, a high end AMD processor and lots of RAM. I have more trouble with the PSE Organizer than I can ever remember having with PSE in the past. It is slow to respond, often just freezes, and or a message pops up telling you PSE 9 is not responding. Do you want to wait? Do you want to shut it down? etc. Waiting to respond often is futile and a waste of time. Most times the only thing you can do is shut the program down and start all over. Needless to say this doesn't make me very pleased with your software and program. It's the type of thing that happens so often it has you swearing at the computer and the Adobe program in particular. I've check out the forums online and this appears to be a quite common complaint. It appears to be even more so with version 9. Like most people these days with families and digital camera enthusists, we have thousands and thousands of photos. Being able to store, organize, find, fix, and be confident these memories will not be lost is a BIG deal. My opinion of this Organizer is that it is HORRIBLE. It is unreliable, slow to respond, and often just totally frustates you with its freezeups and horrible operation. Either Adobe fixes these problems, makes a better working Organizer that I can depend on, or this is my last purchase of this product. When something is this bad, word gets out. One person tells 10 and so on. You HAVE to do better and gets this fixed. Otherwise people like us will just feel they got ripped off on the product. Steve Shapard steveshapard@gmail.com.
