Photoshop Non-Standard Image shape?

I know this sounds useless, and plain ridiculous, but can you add support to cut out the empty space of an image?

What are you trying to accomplish?

Images can only be rectangular. But you can always cut out (make transparent) the regions you don't want.

Yeah, I have a transparent sections, but it's not rendered properly in some browsers, and I was thinking I might be able to fix that if I simple removed those parts, as they're not needed anyway.

How it renders in browsers depends on which file format you use and which browsers you're talking about.

GIF should work everywhere, but only supports a single transparent value.
PNG works in most modern browsers, but not all.

Yeah, I know all about that stuff, I havea few users using the dreaded IE7 and according to Adobe BrowserLab (I think that's what it's called) the transparent part of the PNG is renedered with an olive grey semi opaque background.
