Photoshop Lightroom - Camera Calibration - "As Shot" option for NEF/RAW Files

When importing NEF RAW (Nikon D80) files the colors and contrast are so different from the JPG or when the RAW is opened on NIkon Software. Photoshop Lightroom should have "As Shot" option in Camera Calibration. I don't mind if Photoshop hasn't the all "Picture Control" presets from Nikon Cameras, but I really appreciate if it import the RAW files as I have shot.

There is no "as shot" for raw files. It's just raw data and can be interpreted in an infinite number of different ways. Use the camera matching profiles to match your in-camera choice.

Perhaps this idea would suffice:

But be aware, the embedded preview is only "as shot" if you haven't edited the raw with Nikon software.

In the mean time, here is a way to accomplish what might be your goal:
- Use ExifMeta to obtain Picture Control setting as metadata in Lightroom
- Define collections for newly imported photos to include Picture Control criteria.
- Use CollectionPreseter to apply preset containing camera matching profile to all the collections in one fell swoop.

PS - you may be able to ease your frustration by shooting all photos the same way in camera. I shoot everything with neutral profile and exagerrated saturation - this way I can see the full range of tones present in the histogram without excessive compression of shadows and highlights, and I can see the full range of colors present without straining... Then process to taste in Lightroom...
