Several problems to report:
• Opened images show squares and lines, not the image. Opens ok in other programs.
• Can't pick a color from any open image.
• Brushes corrupt the image, do not function as expected.
Can't work at all in photoshop for the past three days. Should I uninstall and reinstall? Is there a fix? I can work images in Corel Paint Shop Pro, but would rather use Photoshop.
Using OS: Windows 7-64bit, Photoshop Version: 12.0.4, V6.1 Service Pack 1, plenty of memory.

The first and third problems sound like you need to update your video card driver from the GPU maker's website (NOT microsoft).

The failure to pick a color could be related to the video driver, or could be caused by a third party plugin or some other utility on the system. (we've seen both happen)

No, reinstalling is not likely to help, because all those issues sound like they are caused by things other than Photoshop itself.
