Photoshop Gradient In Real Time

I would like to see the ability in Photoshop to be able to adjust gradients in real time by using the properties panel.

Right now, we draw a gradient and if it isn't correct, we have to click the gradient in the options bar again, edit it and click OK. This is done over and over until it is right. What I would like to see are the gradient settings in the properties panel where we can change them and have the results displayed as we change them in the panel.

You can if you use a gradient adjustment layer or gradient fill on a layer style.

The gradient tool is just like a paint tool - it doesn't create a re-editable object and changes the pixels directly.

Even with the adjustment layer, you have to click into dialogs whereas, if it were in the properties panel, you could edit it directly without dialogs but yes, I did forget that the updating part was possible in real time through the dialogs. Sorry, my bad. Can I blame it on a log day? :-)
