Photoshop Eraser overriding Wacom Eraser mapping

My dog chewed on my Intuos 2 pen so now only the eraser works. I can remap the eraser to perform as a "Click" in the latest OSX Lion wacom driver (6.2.0), but this action is being overridden in Photoshop and it only behaves as an eraser. If I remap it to "Right Click", then it behaves properly as a right click in Photoshop. So Photoshop is either overriding or ignoring it when it is mapped to just "Click". Please help me because otherwise I'm stuck and would need to upgrade to an intuos 4 because the newer pens aren't compatible with my older tablet.

Not sure how good of an experience using the eraser end would be in any case.

Looks like you can still get a classic pen - but at that price, new Intuos might be better investment if you live by your tablet:

I know it's not the most ideal solution (using the eraser as a pen), but I was only hoping it would be a temp solution until I finish the project I'm working on. Looks like I'll be biting the bullet and upgrading sooner than I would have liked.

Nonetheless - this IS a problem and Adobe should look into fixing it in a future update. I'm just sayin'. ;)
