Photoshop: enable Patch Tool and Spot Healing in Current Layer & Bellow mode

I (and most retouchers I know) like to clone/heal on a blank layer. It would be great if the patch tool and content aware spot tool could do the same. This would add to workflow efficiency and decrease the pixel overhead of duplicating the entire background layer (or making a stamp merge, etc).

Sample All Layers for content aware is not the same, as it yields a duplication of the effect of adjustments layers above. Having to turn off layers above is a real drag on deeply layered files.

I logged on here to make the same suggestion and decided to do a search before I posted.

For me I don't really care if it is all layers or current layer and below. I mainly want this functionality for the patch tool.
