Hi gang. Here is my conundrum. I am using PS CS5 on my Mac Pro Tower in Snow Leopard. My client is finally getting an iMac which will be running Lion. I wanted to get her PS Elements so she could print my files and make some minor "what if" changes. (I will be teaching her how to use it.)

1) Does PS elements allow you to print an image to tile (i.e. the image is 24 x 36" and we are prinitng on 11 x 17" paper) the way PS CS 5 does? CS5) I have downloaded the demo- but it does not allow me to print.

2) And most importantly... Will it run on Lion?

FYI- I am a textile designer so the files are all clean index or RGB files not photos.)

Msredhd.

Elements definitely runs on Lion.

I have attached a screenshot of the Print dialogue in Elements 9. I created a 24 x 36" document, and I'm able to print on a custom sheet, 11 x 17".

Howard,
Thanks for your rsponse. It is good news that it works in Lion!

Thanks for testing the printing for me. I assume that I can select the section I want to print such as top left, top middle, top right, etc. (The way I can in the CS5) Is that correct? My goal is to have printouts on 11 x 17 paper that I can piece together to show the full size (24 x 36") of the design.

Thanks,
Msredhd

You can position the image anywhere you like, but I don't see options like "Top left, Top middle", etc.

Actually CS5 does not say that either- I was just using it to confer the section I wanted to print to you. But this is great if I can position the image- just like CS5!
Thanks so much for your help!

Now that Apple have released OSX 10.7 (Lion), which drops Rosetta from the OS, will Adobe be releasing a version of Elements that is 10.7 compatible? I called tech support and I am not sure the person had any knowledge of what she was talking about, but the only conclusion I could draw was that Elements 9.0 still requires Rosetta to run on a mac (I use and older version) and thus is not compatible with Lion. If this is true and you have no plans to make tools 10.7 compatible I am going to have to abandon Adobe products, which would be a pity as I have been using them since the very early days of photoshop and Illustrator in the early 90s. Thanks

I had nightmares after installing Elements in Lion- for details of my nightmare see here:

Ever since I installed Lion on my iMac, the photo quality using Elements has declined significantly. Photos are muddy and colors out of balance. Now, I'm using Elements 6.0 and that might be a problem. In any case, I now have to use Graphic Converter to print photos I've worked on with Elements. I don't know what to do and am fairly frustrated.
