Photoshop Elements 6 will not open beyond the first circular blue screen with the names on it.

I have Photoshop 6. Recently after the first blue icon screen with all the names on it comes up it goes no further, i.e. into the innards of the program where pictures are downloaded, viewed etc. I deinstalled and reinstalled the software, no solution. The tech section said it was no longer supported except thru this site. Any ideas what I do after I have reinstalled it? I viewed a similar question on his site asking if I had photoshopelementseditor.exe and to click it. I do not have that, how do I load it into my system? Thanks in advance. ACH

Hi Alan, any idea what changed between when it worked and when it stopped? Add any fonts, 3rd party plugins or other software on your system?

Have you tried to restore the application prefs? http://adobe.ly/PS_Prefs

Jeffrey: Thanks for your reply and guidance. Nothing changed that I remember but will try to restore the prefs you mentioned. With no official assist I was sort of wondering if I had to go with the whole new Adobe 10 versus try to make the 6 work? Do I just activate the pref above to restore it? Thanks again. I deinstalled it myself and reinstalled it using the software disk I got when I bought it. Alt/Control/Shift does nothing, if anything it closes the blue circle. ;-( Alan Hill
