Elements: PSD 12 will not launch on case sensitive volume - Mac OS X 10.9.3.

Just bought Photoshop Elements 12 from the Mac App Store this morning. I'm running on Mac OS X 10.9.3. It will not launch.

Seems that there's a number of case sensitivity issues with various Library frameworks in the application bundle. I managed to manually correct a number of these errors by renaming certain framework bundles to match the case that was specified in the error messages. Took a number of passes to get through those. At that point, Elements launched, but reported an internal error with no significant error display and left me stuck. Probably another case sensitivity issue. And it may not affect all Mac user if some of them have their disk partition set to non-case sensitive.

Most Adobe applications won't run on case sensitive volumes -- we are still encountering too many problems with XCode's build tools to allow us to work on case sensitive volumes.

Thanks for the honest answer Chris. As a developer myself, I'm not going to get into the case sensitive versus insensitive religious debate but I do consider not taking case into account in code as poor practice.

You can take it into account all you want, but when the development tool chain you are required to use doesn't get it right, you're kinda stuck.

I support Tom's comment. Also as a Developer.

I think that I'll try the Gimp.
