In PSE 1-10, a frame layer could be moved between documents without simplifying. Now in PSE 11, frame layer cannot be moved from one document to another unless simplified (by design per customer service). Since this is a function that is critical to my projects... I had to go back to PSE 10. Please restore this functionality in PSE 12.

Hi Cheri,

Thanks for your report.
Could you record a video of what you are able to do in PSE10 that you can't do in PSE11?
You can use a free program like Jing to create and share the screen capture.

What do you mean by Frame Layer? Do you mean the Frames in the graphics panel?

For what it's worth, I can drag one of these "Frame Layers" from one document to another just fine, without having to simplify it. The newly created "Frame Layer" in the new document works just the same as it did in the original document.

So... it would be great if you could clarify what feature you're missing, and what is meant by frame layers.

thanks and regards

Cheri,

Right click on the frame layer and then use Duplicate Frame Layer. With the
destination being the other document.

Hi Dan,
Thanks for the tip on using Duplicate Frame Layer. This does work for me, but it is not as simple as the copy via drag and drop that I could do in previous versions of PSE.

Pete,
I made a Jing Video to illustrate my issue... http://screencast.com/t/mRpZ49hIdv
This is my first attempt at creating a video and my first time posting on this forum. Hopefully this works. Please let me know if video is not accessible or understandable.
Thanks!

Hi Cheri: I watched your video and I too miss this option for framed fotos! Have you heard of another way of doing it (except from the one described above) in PSE11? Thanks!

I would soooo like an answer on this question: I also miss the simple drag and drop of a photo that's being framed... :-(
