Photoshop Elements 10 Organizer crashes getting photos

Photoshop Elements 10 has a bug in the organizer. When I tried to get photos using File > Get Photos and Videos > From Files and Folders... it would crash. I have 12,000 photos taken by various cameras I needed to import. I narrowed the crash down to specific type photos taken by a HP Photosmart M307 camera. The HP M307 camera has the capability to record and embed audio into the .jpg. This type file is a photoshop elements 10 organizer landmine, try to import it and photoshop organizer blows up. If the organizer can’t handle a particular type file, a simple warning would be nice, crashing and having to restart the application every time is a painstaking procedure.

I have the exact issue ! It's not just your specific photo type described. I use both Nikon (D100/D200/CP9100) and Canon (700is) and have issues with .jpg, .mpg with or without embedded audio.

organizer crashes upon opening. I've seen posts about catalog issues upon upgrading from version 9 but have not found a real solution as yet. The application simply will not run.

Edit does however work, but as soon as Organizer is used, the system crashes.

The only "solution" I've found/seen deals with deleting and rebuilding the catalog in V10. Only problem with that is Organizer will not stay running long enough to choose the delete catalog or to build a new catalog.

Still searching for manual ways to delete. I think I'll delete the software then do a registry scan and delete all references to Adobe Elements (possible any reference to Adobe) and reinstall like on a clean/new computer.

Same problem here..:-(

In my case, Elements Photo downloader freezes when downloading RAW files from Canon EOS 5d ll, but allows download from my old one, Canon EOS 450D.
I discovered the problem in Elements 7, but couldn ́t solve the problem by updating to camera RAW version 5.2 which should cover the EOS 5D ll. So, what do a wise man do..!? He bues the latest version, Elements 10. Exact same problem here with an update to RAW version 6.7.

I have had 2 different Adobe agent ́s look into my world, but without result, except from the advise to try to use ́the workaround ́

I am still running both versions of Elements and I am wondering, if it would be wise to delete Elements 7 to see if that changes anything in Elements 10.

Until now, I could have spent my money a hole lot better.

I use Canon EOS Utility to get the photos down on my PC.

Thank you Canon..:-))
