I have Photoshop Elements 10. I have installed it and used it. All of a sudden the menu bar has disappeared. I do not know how to bring it back.

Did you change the screen mode, possibly by pressing the "f" key?

I do not believe so. If i did it was inadvertently. If I did, what do I do to recover the menu bar?

What is the f key?
What is it supposed to do?

I clicked on the F key on the keyboard a number of times and nothing happens. When you say teh key, are you referring to a function Key. If so which one?

Then as i understand it, you would set your system text size back to the default like 100% (96 dpi) as per the directions in the link posted above.

To change the Windows text size/DPI of your display:

XP: Start > Control Panel > Display or Start > Settings > Control Panel > Display. Click Settings > Advanced.

Vista: Windows Start > Control Panel > Personalization > Adjust Font Size (DPI).

Windows 7: Start > Control Panel > Display. To choose a custom size, click Set Custom Text Size (DPI) on the left.

I already have tried that. It did not work. The system text size was at 100% smallest asnd the menu bar was not there. I set the text size to 12% and rebooted and then went back and set it back tp 100% and rebooted. Still no menu bar. I also found on the net that this issue was fixed in Elements 10 which is what I am using. Any other ideas? Thanks.

What screen resolution are you running?

If you look closely at the top of the organizer, do you see a small arrow that will show the menus?

Has the top of the organizer somehow gotten off the screen?
A screenshot would help.

If you press Alt+F does the file menu appear?

I am running Windows 7

It certainly looks like the top of the organizer has gotten off the screen. I am not able to move the window even when minimized. I can resize but not move. I discoverd ALT+Space+M followed by down arrow and then mouse to move the app.
Problem solved. Thanks for the help and the tip.

After you move the organizer, if you press the Maximize button does that make a difference?

The only way I can get the menu in Elements 9 is to change the display to 1024 - 768 which really is sad when I just bought a new monitor that is much wider but will not show the menu bar in organizer. This means when I use Photoshop elements organizer, which I did use all the time for organizing, sizing, moving and renaming photos, I have to change the resolution. Is there any easier way?

Barbara again,
I just discovered that as long as the vertical size is around 768 the horizontal can be boosted up to 1024 and the screen is full again and the menu bar still shows.

Same thing happened to me just now. I just hit the "Reset Panels" button on the top right and it all came back.

I'm running windows 10 64 bit.  Is Elements 10 supported on this machine.  When I do a drop down menu in edit mode.  I can't see most of the options.  They seem to be blank

How do you tell which version you have installed?  My menu text vanished, I believe, after a Windows 10 update.  Photoshop worked fine before, then next time I loaded it up, the menu text doesn't display.

If you previously had a 32 bit OS installed on your computer and then upgraded to Windows 10 64bit OS, That's what happens.  You have to install the 64 bit version of Elements 10.

I don't think that's my problem, since I haven't upgraded to 64 bit Windows 10.  Elements 10 had been working fine up until a few weeks ago.  I still can't determine what version of Elements 10 I have.  Where do I look for that information?  This had happened once before that I know of, again, after Microsoft pushed out an update, but it eventually cleared up.  Am I too skeptical to think this is a scheme to get me to buy another upgrade of a software that already does more than I need it to do?

Well, what I mean is, I've had 64 bit Windows 10 all along and Photoshop worked fine before.

About two weeks ago Photoshop 10 stopped working, as described above. Edit drop down menu is blank.  It worked fine up until then. I have windows 10 and it worked fine until the beginning of July 2017.  Is this a Windows update problem or Adobe problem?  How do I get the edit menu back.

This reply was created from a merged topic originally titled Elements: Windows 10 Creators Update broke workspace drop down menus fonts.

Since applying the Windows 10 Creators update, PhotoShop Elements 11's workspace drop down menus fonts are unreadable. I found that resetting PE11's General Preference to use the System Font fixed the font display problem.
