Photoshop Elements: System acts like spacebar held down

Sometimes when I try to use my Photoshop Elements, it works fine until I try to save, then it acts like the spacebar is being held down on my computer. Even after I close Photoshop I still have the same problem with my whole computer and have to restart it to get it to stop. But I only have this problem once in a while. Sometimes it works fine, and then sometimes I will have to restart my computer three or four times before it will work normal again. I don't know why it is doing this. I haven't been able to find a way to contact anyone any other way (and I don't want to pay $30 for a customer support phone call!) so I hope I can get help here.

If Photoshop Elements has been closed down, then it cannot be creating an effect on your computer anymore. If you have restarted you computer, then Photoshop Elements is certainly not running. I would suggest a whole slew of basic computer maintenance like defragging the hard drive, performing a system repair, and a disk scan. Because it sounds like a performance issue, likely an issue with the hard drive if the behavior occurs during disk access (saving). I'd also suggest try running your computer in a simplified startup mode to determine if a background process is the root cause.

This could just be dirt or debris in your keyboard.
Or it could be a bug in something related to Photoshop Elements (a plugin, a driver, etc.) that confuses the OS about the state of the keyboard.
Or you could have some malware on the system that needs to be cleaned out.

But Brett is correct -- after the application exits, it can't affect the rest of the system. You have something wrong beyond Photoshop Elements.
