Hmm. I don't think we've ever stored changed ruler origins in the file (at least we didn't in CS4, either). Have you ever been able to do this?

And it cannot be recorded in an Action. I thought about recommending the Scripts Events Manager for simply launching an action, but therefore, you would need a script for that. ( http://help.adobe.com/en_US/photoshop... )

Is it possible to make an option in preferences?

Example:

IMHO, this option is very simple to realize.

Yes, it might seem very simple to implement, but not to test, troubleshoot in all languages, with application frame/without, in all F screen modes, in tabbed mode/floating windows, with OpenGL on/off, or selected OpenGL features deactivated, with small, big and medium font size, 32bits /64 bits, Mac/PC and whathever other interface variables that could interfere (and multiply each setting by the other, you get hundreds of cases to test, approve, fix if necessary).
This is why all requests must be weighted against each other, to see those worth implementing.

I know that you can read the locations but don't think you can set them with a script?

var ref = new ActionReference();
ref.putEnumerated( charIDToTypeID("Dcmn"), charIDToTypeID("Ordn"), charIDToTypeID("Trgt") );
var desc = executeActionGet(ref);
var xOffSet = desc.getInteger(stringIDToTypeID('rulerOriginH'));
var yOffSet = desc.getInteger(stringIDToTypeID('rulerOriginV'));
alert("X offset = " + (xOffSet>>16) + " Y offset = " + (yOffSet>>16));

How to change the offset with this script?
