Photoshop CS6 keyboard shortcuts not working correctly

Each time I open or swap to a new image/tab and then try to apply a keyboard shortcut it does not work. I have to press the keys twice to work. Slows everything down when working between images with commands such as select all, copy, paste etc. Also problematic with actions.

Any help appreciated.

Using Mac pro 2.66 8 core Nehalem 32 GB Ram OS 10.6.8

Are you using any third party plugins? Have you tried disabling them?

Are you using any Flash Panels (including MiniBridge)? Have you tried closing them?

Are you running any other applications at the same time as Photoshop? Have you tried quitting them? (we've seen reports of problems with some browsers open at the same time, and are still investigating)

Thanks Chris. Tried closing MiniBridge tab, no other applications open and removing plugins. Same problem persists.

Just to update. I can use the shortcuts successfully by disabling tabs but the problem persists when tabs are enabled. Anyone found a fix?

Without tabs things get a bit awkward as photoshop CS6 has a background screen which I feel negates the purpose of not using tabs, i.e. being able to see the desktop and tool bar at top as I have in CS3 (in CS6 the top toolbar can disappear beneath an image, in CS3 it's always on top).

This problem appeared to have disappeared however is now back again. Not sure what the problem could be.

What kind of tablet are you using? What kind of tablet software? What kind of keyboard are you using? Any other pointer or keyboard software? We've heard these complaints a couple of time, but they're usually caused by a third-party device intercepting the keystrokes. More information is a good place to start.

Thanks,
David

Hi David,

I'm using a standard mac keyboard and a third party mouse, namely Microsoft express. I think you may have answered my problem. Unplugging the mouse and using the shortcut to swap tabs works without glitch. I guess a new mouse is in order.

Thank you, Toby
