Also the brush size can be small and the lag is still there, like a 20 size brush

Hi there,

Can you tell me what graphics driver is installed with your Surface Pro 2? If you press "Windows Key-X" and then select Device Manager can you report what it says under display adapters?

Does it say "Intel HD Graphics Family (Intel Corporation - WDDM 1.3)"

Thanks,
Jeff

Corey,

A couple of questions for you:

1. When you see the slowdown using the brush tool, are you using the mouse or stylus to draw on canvas?
2. Can you run a quick test for me? Try launching Photoshop, let it sit for ~10 mins, then try painting. Is performance faster now?

Both of these data points will be helpful in determining what's happening on your Surface Pro.

Thanks,
Adam

Jeff: Yes thats the driver it shows

Adam: Yeah i paint with the stylus that comes with surface
- Letting it sit for 10 min does make a big difference its a lot more responsive now. Much more friendly to use. Is this how everyone has to use photoshop on the surface? I dont understand why I have to let it sit for so long but thank you very much both of u its alittle better atleast now.

Corey,

The wait time before the app is truly responsive is a known bug that hopefully we can address in the future. Users with lower-end portable systems (like the Surface with limited cpus, ram, etc) see the problem more than those with higher-power desktop systems. You may need to only wait 5 mins, YMMV.

Thanks,
Adam

Great im glad you guys are working on it. Mostly every other art program i dont have this issue, just photoshop for some reason.

Also are there any tips and tricks I can use to speed up my photoshop cs6 on my surface pro 2, (128gb 4 gbram) or do I sorta just have to live with it at the time being?

I have the same problem with Photoshop CC, on a Surface Pro 2 - trying to work on an A4 file at 300 dpi, even the basic hard round brush, with transfer turned on really lags. So at the moment I can't use the program to do anything productive.

I have installed the latest Wacom driver, and tried different settings with the GPU in performance settings.
