Hi,

Flow to reproduce:
1. Take Type Tool (T)
2. Click and drag to create a paragraph text.
3. Start typing something.
4. Hit Enter button (located above the right shift button) - you go on a new line.
5. Hit Numpad Enter button - paragraph being deselected. You cannot use Numpad Enter button to go on a new line.

The issue is in point 5. Pretty frustrating really.

Thanks!

Howdy,

Actually, what you're seeing is as the feature was designed and has worked for since at least PS 7. There actually is a differences between the Return key (often mislabeled as Enter) found to the right of the the various letter keys and the Enter key found to the right of the number keypad.

Return gives you a new line. Enter completes your transaction/exits modal state of Type tool.

Thanks,
David
