Photoshop: CS6 network lag time when saving a file on an internal server.

I am a professional photographer with five computers accessing files from a network server; none of the photos are stored on local C drives. Four of the five computers (all different ages running windows xp or windows 7), are fine when working in Photoshop (CS3, CS5, cs6) , but the newest fastest computer (Intel Core i7) running windows 7 with Photoshop cs6 (updated today) is slow. For example: when opening a photo and cropping for the web (5x7 at 72 dpi) and then closing the photo (saving the change in the same fold it was opened from), takes less than a second on the four older computers. On the new computer it takes 7 to 8 seconds. Any ideas why and any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Have you tried restoring your prefs on the affected system: http://blogs.adobe.com/crawlspace/201...

Do you have any 3rd party utilities or anti-virus on the affected system?

I tried restoring the preferences, firewalls are off and ESet is on all of the computers, so it is not the problem.

Hmm. It's a tough one. There's something system specific going on. Have you tried creating a new admin user and running from the new user to see fi the lag goes away?

No, but I am not sure that is the issue. Let me give you another example that makes this problem even tougher: On the problem computer if after cropping the image, I do a "save as" and rename it, it is instant... no delays. It is only when I do a straight save and/or close and save that the seven second delay comes up. It opens files fast etc. It is just the "save" that is slow. It seems like there is a permission issue or something for that one command.

Do you have any third party plugins? Font management plugins have been known to mess with file saving...
