Photoshop CS6 Hangs Every Time It's Launched

For no apparent reason, PS CS6 hangs every time I launch it. I have been using it for months with no problem. It started with a text tool problem. I reinstalled Font Agent Pro 5. Then it began hanging regardless of what I was doing, even if I was doing nothing. Sometimes I can get a step or two done before it hangs. If I launch it and leave it without doing anything, still hangs. Reinstalled from Creative Cloud - problem continues. All other Adobe apps seem to be working fine. It never crashes, just "quits responding" so there's never a crash report to submit. Any ideas? This is driving me nuts.

System: Mac Pro 2X2.8 Ghz Quad Intel Xeon, 12 Gb RAM, running 10.8.2

Try disabling the Font Agent plugins (or all third party plugins).

This does sound like a font related problem, so you might want to try the font troubleshooting guide: http://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/kb/t...

I disabled the Font Agent Pro 5 auto-activation plug-in and that stopped the crashing when I wasn't doing anything, or just working with images. It still crashed when I attempted to use the type tool. So I ran the Font Test script on 549 fonts - nothing came up corrupted. I deleted the Photoshop font cache and that seems to have taken care of the problem.
Thanks for your help.

OK, so the font caches got corrupted while dealing with Font Agent.
Good to know.

Definitely contact the makers of Font Agent and see if they have an update, or if they need more information to fix their bugs.
